There are, no doubt, numerous ways that you could describe Eye. And it would be a fairly safe bet that a lot of those might be synonyms for big. But the one that seems to be wheeled out most often is epic. Not without reason for the music of Eye has that certain quality that separates it from a lot of similar bands. Growth could be the other watch word that helps define this separation. The music at first glance appears repetitious but the evolution of sound as notes sustain and build in stature is hypnotic. Songs flow, commanding attention and a disregard for time and surroundings. Before you know it, the songs has climaxed leaving you tingling with warmth, then it starts again.

Or, perhaps, midway through that build, a deft change in footing and the band is off in another direction. But this doesn't really describe the sound of Eye. Rather that is the emotions they portray. The sound itself would no doubt be lumped into that easy catch-all of "post-rock". Sure, the components are there: guitar, bass, drums.
Slow burning arrangements. This sterile compartmentalisation doesn't do the sound justice.

Melodic, atmospheric, pulsating, even eerie - that may be slightly more apt. Essentially, though, it is not difficult to see why Eye have garnered such a reputation around the live music circuit in Scotland.
